On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, the Internal Revenue Service announced that taxpayers could now go to a participating 7-Eleven store and be able to make cash payments towards your tax bill(s). Previously, the only option available would be going directly to an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center, which were limited to normal business hours, when much of America are working themselves.

This now gives you the convenience to going to any one of the 7,000 participating 7-Eleven stores located throughout 34 states that are open 7 days a week and many even 24 hours per day.

There are still steps involved in this new process, including submitting personal information onto the IRS Payment page and receiving an e-mail for a link to a payment code. Afterwards, you’ll receive an e-mailed receipt and within 2 business days your payment will post, so no waiting until the last minute.

With conveniences come convenience fees. For the low charge of only $3.99 per transaction, you can make up to a $1,000.00 daily maximum cash payment.
